It is possible for you to collect the product you have ordered from one of our branches. When placing your order, you have the option of "collecting at a branch". This option is free of any surcharge.

All orders are essentially binding. If there is a delay in delivery, you will be informed as quickly as possible per Email. Any order of a book that is temporarily unavailable will be placed on hold for you. You have the right to cancel an order that is on hold at any time.

• The Orell Füssli customer card bookpoints, referred to in what follows as the bookpoints card, may be issued to any customer aged 16 or over, referred to in what follows as a participant.

 

• The customer card is a bonus card for all Orell Füssli customers. Participation in Orell Füssli’s bookpoint programme is voluntary and is without any commitment on the part of the customer.

 

• A customer becomes a participant in the bookpoints programme with the issue of a bookpoints card. The hereby stated general terms and conditions of business become applicable with the first usage of the card.

 

• Every Orell Füssli customer may obtain a customer card. The said card is not personalised and can therefore be used by any family member. With every bookcard issued, the participant receives stickers with the same card number that can be passed on to other persons for the purpose of collecting points on the same account.

 

• The participant grants permission for Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG to collect information concerning purchases made by a participant and for such information to be used for marketing purposes. Personal information will be treated with the utmost respect and will not be used outside of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG nor will it be made available to any third party unless it falls within the right of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG to protect and enforce its own interests.

 

• Bookpoints will be booked to the customer’s account when a purchase is made in any Orell Füssli branch with CHF 1.- corresponding to (1) point. Identification of the customer results solely from the use of the customer card. Vouchers and costs of delivery cannot be used to accumulate points.

 

• Bookpoints cannot be credited to an account once receipt of payment for any purchase has been issued by a cashier. 

 

• Any offers of a discount in connection with the bookpoints card cannot be combined with other discounts or special offers in our branches.

 

• If a customer card or sticker is lost, it will be replaced without any charge or loss of points collected.

 

• The participant will receive information on his/her account balance on a regular basis. Once an account has a balance of 300 points, a CHF.10.- voucher will be sent to the participant. Such vouchers can be redeemed in any of our branches for the purchase of any item until the date of expiry. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, nor can they be used to purchase gift vouchers, gift cards or to settle an debit account. Vouchers that are lost cannot be replaced. Collected points that have not been redeemed within two years shall expire and will not be replaced.

 

• Orell  Füssli Buchhandlungs AG must be informed of a participant’s change of address per Email or directly in any branch. If there is no notification of a participant’s change of address and it is not possible to find out a new address with a reasonable effort by our staff, the participant’s customer card will be cancelled along with any points collected.

 

• Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG, Dietzingerstrasse 3, 8036 Zürich reserves the right to change the conditions of its bookpoints programme at any time. The conditions of the customer card programme are available for perusal at all times in all of our branches.

 

• Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG reserves the right to terminate this offer at any time or to temporarily stop the programme in circumstances beyond our control or in the event of a technological breakdown that prevents crediting a participant’s account with points accrued.

 

• The place of jurisdiction is the seat of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG in Zurich. In the event of any dispute, Swiss Law is applicable.

• When ordering an audiobook, books.ch does not grant ownership of the said book. The person who orders an audiobook obtains the limited right to use the given title for his/her own personal use for 30 years from the moment of its first download. This right is not transferrable, and can be cancelled prior to full payment of the licence fees.

 

• The content of an audio book may not be changed in any way by the person who places such an order.

 

• It is allowed for the person who orders an audiobook to make a copy of it for his/her own personal use. It is forbidden for the aforesaid person to pass the audiobook onto any third party (friends, relatives and acquaintances), to make its content available to the public or to pass it on in any way, to publish it on the Internet with or without any charges involved, to sell it to a third party and/or to use the aforesaid material for commercial purposes whatsoever.

 

• When downloading an audiobook, it will be given a non-audible and not extinguishable individual watermark that will make it possible to trace and ascertain the identity of the original purchaser of the item in the event of any misuse of the conditions of usage.

All prices are understood to include the legally required value added taxes. The prices quoted are subject to price changes by the publisher and the supplier.

 

All products available in the Webshop are clearly marked with the tag “Online-Price”. They may differ to those published in Orell Füssli branches.

 

We expressly reserve the right to undertake price changes.

Returning / refunding of a book in perfect and in a saleable condition will be accepted within 10 days of purchase in exchange for a credit voucher.

 

For copyright reasons downloads (audiobooks, software and eBooks), software, multi-media products, sound storage media, videos and DVDs are excluded.

 

Any item with a manufacturing defect or any wrong delivery will be replaced with a flawless or correct item.

The Gift Card of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG

The general terms and conditions outlined below are valid for the gift card of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG.

The gift card is a debit card for which a credit balance is registered with Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG for the customer. The gift cards replace the former gift vouchers that remain valid until their date of expiry. The credit available on a gift card entitles the customer to purchase goods and make us of the services of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG according to the general terms and conditions outlined below. These terms and conditions establish the clearly defined rules of the mutual relationship between the customer and Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG.

Purchase of a Gift Card

A gift card has no value until it has been charged at a till. No set amount has been charged to the card. Only after an individual card has been charged and paid for at the till is the system activated and thus available for use.

Gift cards have no set amount charged to them. You can determine the amount to be charged (from CHF 10.00 to CHF 1’000) to the card at any till in any Orell Füssli branch.

 

Once a gift card is activated with a credit balance, it can be used as a form of payment in all branches of Orell Füssli.

 

Gift cards can be recharged at any till in all branches of Orell Füssli. A recharge can only be made if the customer has the card on him/her at the time.

 

No interest will be paid on any credit balance.

 

Bookpoints cannot be accrued with the purchase of a gift card, nor can any customer discounts be claimed. Only when a gift card is used as a form of payment will bookpoints be given according to the amount of the purchase, or discounts may be claimed by the customer as with any other form of payment.

 

Gift Cards are not personalized and can be used by a third party. It should be viewed as a cash equivalent form of payment. Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG will not be held liable in the event of a gift card being lost, stolen or damaged. Cards will not be replaced. A gift card must be presented to a cashier for its credit balance to be accessed.

 

Redeeming Credit

 

A gift card must be handed to the till person for scanning for payment to be effectual. Payment is not possible if the customer does not have the card on him/her.

 

If a payment is not possible for technical reasons, Orell Füssli stores reserve the right to refuse payment with a gift card in individual cases.

 

The credit balance on a gift card can be used for full or partial payment of a purchase.

 

It is not possible to make a cash exchange for the credit balance of any given gift card, neither in part nor for the total sum nor can it be exchanged for some other form of voucher.

 

Any remaining credit on your gift card will expire 5 years after the date of purchase or recharge.

 

Data Safety and Data Protection

 

The Gift Card is not personalized and may be used by a third party. Because of this, no customer details are required for its purchase and usage. Up-to-date technology is used to ensure that data is protected. No liability will be accepted for any data sent via the Internet.
